How to improve
Google shows roughly 580px of title and 990px of description on desktop, and less on mobile. Stay within the limits so nothing important gets cut off, and front-load your keyword.
What It Does
Shows how your title, URL and meta description could look in Google's results, in a desktop and a mobile layout. It measures the rendered width of the title and the description and flags text likely to be cut off. The preview updates as you type.
Why It Matters
Your title and description are the first thing searchers read. A title cut off in the middle of its key words looks unfinished and can cost clicks. Fixing it takes a minute per page.
How It Works
-
Type or paste a title, a URL and a meta description
-
We measure the rendered width of each: titles wider than about 580px and descriptions wider than about 990px are likely to be cut off
-
Show the preview in a desktop and a mobile layout, with a warning for text that will be cut off
-
Edit the text and watch the preview update

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Google always use my title and meta description?
No. Google often rewrites titles it finds too long, stuffed with keywords or off-topic, and it may build the snippet from page text. Keeping your title within the width shown here lowers the chance of a rewrite.
What's the ideal title length?
Under about 580px wide, which is roughly 50–60 characters in most fonts. That is the width this tool uses to flag a title as cut off.
Mobile or desktop SERP?
In many markets most searches happen on phones, so check the mobile layout first. This preview uses the same width limits for both layouts.
Does meta description impact ranking?
No. Google does not use the meta description for ranking. It can become the text under your result, which affects whether people click.
Why is my title showing differently in Google than the preview?
Google may rewrite based on context, especially if the title runs long or reads as keyword-stuffed. Shortening it to fit within the length shown here reduces the chance of a rewrite.
